   [Unknown, USA] The
late 70s and early 80s were marked (marred?) by a proliferation of "stretched
limousines", many on the (reliable) and luxurious Cadillac base.  here is one of
      them:
   [Unknown, USA] This is the
longest Limousine in the world - 100 ft long, with 26 wheels. It's a 1980 Cadillac and has
      fewer than 10,000 miles.  There's a jucuzzi, a sundeck and a helicopter pad aboard;
the car has two driving positions (one in front and one in the rear). This limousine is
registered in the Guiness Book of Records (November, 2002) as being the longest road
vehicle in the world. It was designed as a movie prop; consequently it has no passenger
seating. It has been on hire to various advertsing agencies    This earlier model Eldorado was only
      completed in 1980

   Various manufacturers (USA):
as usual, Cadillac delivered its highly successful commercial chassis to a number of
independent coach builders who continued to design ambulances, hearses and combination
      vehicles.     1982 American Custom Coachworks
(Beverly Hills, USA) made a variety of Cadillac extended body limousines like the one
illustrated below: This car graced the cover of Automotive Fleet
      in July, 1982

Hess & Eisenhardt (USA) In a press
release dated   January 30, 1984 it was announced that  Cadillac Motor Car
Division had delivered  that day to the United States Secret Service one of two
Presidential limousines.  A second unit was to
be delivered to the Secret Service later that spring. The new Presidential limousine
featured a special chassis and power train designed and built by Cadillac in cooperation
with the General Motors Engineering Staff.  Special armoring and body modifications
were designed and developed by Hess & Eisenhardt Armoring of Cincinnati a
division of OGara International, Ltd.  All
facets of the design, development and manufacture of this Cadillac limousine were
supervised by the U.S. Secret Service. The following excerpt is from Autocar for
the weekend of 30 June 1984 [ZTV collection]. "Two presidential limousines
were specially built by Cadillac this year in conjunction with General Motors Engineering
staff and Hess & Eisenhardt of Cincinnati. Based on the standard limousine but with
the wheelbase lengthened 17 inches to 161.5" Three jump seats. Car is 21 ' 9".
Claimed to be one of the longest cars ever made by a major manufacturer. The roof is
raised three inches compared with the standard model. It has extended glass area, special
interior lighting, miniature spotlights on the front wings to illuminate the matched
presidential flag and stars and stripes. The car itself is black with dark blue cloth
interior and trim. It has a retractable rear bumper platform and handrail and a public
      address system. "

At the same time the presidential limousine was delivered for use by the new occupants of
the White House, a new security car also was added to the fleet:

		        National Coach Engineering (USA) built
this, the World's Fastest Street Limousine in the eighties, on a Cadillac Fleetwood
Brougham chassis [year not specified], with a 83-inch stretch. It has six
forward-facing seats and a modified engine churning out 600HP.
